BYD Sime Motors has opened a new 3S centre in Miri, Sarawak, extending its retail and aftersales presence in East Malaysia. The company also operates outlets in Kuching and Sibu. The new site is the largest BYD facility in Sarawak to date, covering 12,228 square feet.
Its showroom can display up to five vehicles. Six service bays are designed to support aftersales work, with combined capacity for as many as 35 vehicles daily. Customer facilities include a lounge, bar counter and discussion room, alongside a dedicated vehicle handover bay and EV chargers.
Kah Progression Auto operates the centre. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oriental Holdings, and the facility has a staff of 15. The opening is part of BYD Sime Motors’ effort to grow its network as EV adoption expands beyond Malaysia’s major cities, according to the company’s managing directors.
The centre is at Lot 1829, Jalan Krokop Utama, Miri. It is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
