In Indonesia, BYD’s M6 has entered the leading group of MPVs, but it remains well behind Toyota’s Avanza and Veloz, according to wholesales data for January through September 2026 from industry association Gaikindo. The Toyota pair totaled 48,506 deliveries to dealers: 30,337 Avanzas and 18,169 Velozes. The M6 placed third with 12,194 units, counting both its battery-electric and plug-in hybrid versions.

The M6’s arrival has reshaped competition among mid-sized LMPVs and pushed Mitsubishi’s Xpander out of its previous position in the contest, but has not displaced Toyota’s two models at the top. BYD first brought the fully electric M6 to Indonesia at the GIIAS show in mid-2024. On June 30, 2026, it added a DM-i plug-in hybrid option, aimed at buyers concerned about range on longer journeys. That version starts at around Rp298 million, and 5,121 units had been shipped to dealers since its launch.

The pricing puts the M6 close to Toyota’s hybrid offerings. The entry Veloz 1.5 V Hybrid costs Rp303 million, while the top Veloz Hybrid, equipped with TSS driver-assistance features and a Modellista body kit, is priced at Rp385 million to Rp389 million. That higher trim sits near the M6 EV Standard at Rp379 million and the mid-to-upper DM-i versions, listed at Rp360 million to Rp390 million.
