BYD has offered a first look at the cabin of its next-generation Seagull, releasing official interior design sketches on Thursday. The images, posted on Weibo by Zhang Zhuo, who oversees sales for BYD's Ocean lineup, reveal a stripped-back interior built around straight dashboard lines and a new 2-spoke steering wheel. The large floating central touchscreen carries over, but the digital instrument display is gone.

The center console keeps an open storage bay underneath and adds wireless phone charging along with dual cupholders, while the number of storage compartments appears to have grown. Zhang promised more details soon but stopped short of announcing a launch date or pricing. The interior preview lands just two days after exterior sketches showcased a new front end with "trident-style lights."

Filing data from China's MIIT puts the second-gen Seagull at 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase — 425 mm and 150 mm more than the outgoing car, respectively. Seating rises from 4 to 5, nudging its footprint closer to the Dolphin. Both filed variants pair a 95 kW motor, up from 55 kW, with LFP batteries, and one offers optional LiDAR plus radar sensors around the car.

The Seagull remains a pillar of BYD's Ocean lineup, currently priced from 69,900 yuan to 85,900 yuan. It sold 529,537 units in 2025 and has surpassed 1.5 million cumulative sales from its April 2023 debut through the end of August. August volume of 36,106 units rose 5.56% year on year, breaking a 12-month slide, though deliveries in the first eight months of 2026 were still down 37.5%.
