BYD’s Fangchengbao brand is preparing to launch the Ti 9, a large six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, in China after Nov. 15. Vehicles for display and test drives are expected to arrive at dealerships in late October. The company has not yet announced the SUV’s prices or available grades; a later arrival in Arab markets is possible, but has not been confirmed.

The Ti 9 is the flagship of Fangchengbao’s family-oriented Ti series. Unlike the Bao 5 and Bao 8, it uses a unibody structure. The SUV measures 5.27 metres long, 1.999 metres wide and 1.88 metres high, with a 3.13-metre wheelbase. Its cabin has six seats in a 2+2+2 layout, with separate second-row seats. Heating, ventilation and massage functions are listed for all three rows. Equipment includes a 30-inch front panoramic display and a foldable 21.4-inch screen mounted in the roof for rear passengers.

Its plug-in hybrid system pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated at 154 hp with two electric motors, each rated at up to 200 kW. Combined output is 536 hp, and the SUV has all-wheel drive. A 66.48-kWh LFP battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams Battery provides a claimed electric range of up to 310 km under the WLTC cycle; BYD says total range exceeds 1,600 km with a full tank and charged battery. Standard features include DiSus-A air suspension, predictive road sensing, the iATS terrain system, fast charging and second-generation Blade batteries.

Separately, BYD plans to introduce its Shark plug-in hybrid pickup in China in late November or early December, more than two years after its global-market launch. The article gives no Chinese pricing for either vehicle.
