BYD has launched the second-generation Seagull in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. Sold as the Atto 1 in some markets, the electric hatchback is offered in five versions priced from 65,900 to 99,900 yuan. The entry price is 4,000 yuan below that of the previous generation’s cheapest 2026 model. The five trims are Vitality, Freedom, Ease, Flight and Smart, with prices of 65,900, 72,900, 75,900, 82,900 and 99,900 yuan respectively.

The new car measures 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. That makes it 425 mm longer than its predecessor, while the wheelbase grows by 150 mm. Rear cargo capacity can reach 1,380 litres, and a new 94-litre front trunk adds storage. Buyers can choose an 85 kW or 95 kW motor, each producing 130 Nm, paired with a second-generation Blade Battery in 30.1 kWh or 39.2 kWh capacities. CLTC-rated range is 320 km or 420 km, depending on the battery. The three upper trims with the larger pack support charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes, BYD says.

Cabin equipment includes a 15.6-inch DiLink 150 display, DeepSeek AI, wireless phone charging and ventilated, heated front seats. The LiDAR-based DiPilot 300 system offers city and highway navigation assistance. BYD also lists six airbags and a tire-burst stability system.
