Changan has put its Nevo Q06 mid-size crossover on sale in China, with the entry pure-electric trim tagged at 139,900 yuan (20,880 USD) and an international rollout to follow. Buyers can choose between battery-electric and range-extender powertrains, while the styling comes from Klaus Zyciora, the former Volkswagen design chief who now serves as a vice president at Changan Automobile. At home, the newcomer is aimed squarely at the BYD Song Ultra.
The SUV stretches 4,837 mm long on a 2,940-mm wheelbase and slips through the air with a 0.27 drag coefficient. Its minimalist cabin centers on a 15.6-inch touchscreen paired with a compact digital cluster, and the kit list includes a retractable roof-mounted screen, a 9.5-liter fridge, ambient lighting running 4,450 mm around the interior, rear seats that power-recline to 145 degrees with a 28-point massage, and zero-gravity front chairs. Trunk volume is 782 liters, expandable to 2,200 liters, and BEV versions add a 196-liter compartment under the hood.
Driver-assistance hardware combines a roof-mounted 256-line LiDAR, 11 cameras and three mm-wave radars feeding a 560-TOPS processor, enabling automatic braking from speeds up to 135 km/h and automatic emergency steering between 60 and 120 km/h. The rear-drive BEV range opens with a 225-kW (302-hp) motor and 66-kWh LFP pack good for 602 km CLTC, steps up to 245 kW (329 hp) with an 80-kWh pack rated at 700 km, and tops out with a 330-kW (443-hp) dual-motor setup that reaches 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and covers 670 km.
The EREV variant uses a 72-kW (97-hp) 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine purely as a generator for two rear-mounted motors with a combined 270 kW (362 hp), sprinting to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, while its 28.39-kWh battery provides 200 km of CLTC electric range. Six trims span 139,900 to 169,900 yuan (20,880–25,360 USD). The target model, the BYD Song Ultra, is priced from 129,900 to 179,900 yuan and, per China EV DataTracker, found 58,362 domestic buyers between March and August 2026.
