Astara Chile has appointed Alfredo Chaparro as general manager of Chery and Exeed, effective October 2026. He will lead the two Chinese brands’ commercial strategy, dealer-network development and efforts to strengthen the customer experience in Chile.
Chaparro brings more than 18 years of experience in the automotive industry and business leadership. His career has included senior roles at vehicle importers and dealerships, covering operations, business development and commercial management. In recent years, he has served as a CEO and general manager at several companies. He is a commercial engineer and holds an MBA from the University of Portland.
His priorities include expanding and strengthening the brands’ dealer network and aftersales operations, as well as developing a product range focused on new energy. Astara’s operating experience and its more than 25 years in Chile’s automotive industry are expected to support the work. Chaparro takes up the role as competition increases, SUVs consolidate their position and Chinese brands gain prominence in the market.
