Chery Australia has released further technical details of the Stockman plug-in hybrid pickup, marking the Chinese automaker’s entry into Australia’s competitive ute segment. First deliveries are scheduled to begin on February 1, 2027. The company says the model is aimed at buyers seeking towing and off-road capability alongside everyday usability and electrified driving.

The powertrain pairs a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine with an electric motor and a 34 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. Chery quotes combined output of 350 kW and peak torque of 800 Nm, with electric-only range of up to 96 km on the WLTP cycle. An 80-liter fuel tank is intended to support longer journeys, while the plug-in system allows some trips to be made without using the diesel engine when the battery is charged.

The Stockman measures 5,450 mm long, 2,010 mm wide and 1,890 mm tall, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase and 247 mm of ground clearance. Its cargo bed is 1,560 mm long and wide, and 500 mm high. Braked towing capacity is 3,495 kg; the unbraked limit is 750 kg.

Four-wheel drive, front, center and rear differential locks, standard all-terrain tires and selectable surface-focused drive modes are among its off-road features. It also includes Crawl Control and Tight-Turn Assist. Inside, the listed equipment includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 14-speaker audio system.
