Chery Group says it expects its business in Indonesia to keep growing, citing demand for the Jaecoo J5 and Chery Q. The company currently operates four brands in the country: Chery, Omoda Jaecoo, Lepas and iCar. It is also preparing to add Luxeed, according to the report.

Chery International Executive Vice President Chen Chungqing said the Jaecoo J5 had become popular in Indonesia. Gaikindo figures cited in the article show the model reached 26,535 wholesale sales during 2026. That volume placed it among Indonesia’s monthly best-selling cars and put it in competition with models powered by conventional engines.

Chen also highlighted the electric Chery Q. The J5 and Q target a sizable part of the market, with prices in the range of Rp 200 million to Rp 300 million. Chery said that demand for these models gives it confidence in the prospects for its Indonesian business, while acknowledging that its expansion there has also brought difficulties.
