A BYD Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8, marketed as the Denza B8 outside China, has attracted attention after video showed it moving on a public road in Jinshan Town, Lianyungang, with its left-front wheel raised and secured by a wheel clamp. The footage also shows parked vehicles, passing traffic and pedestrians nearby. The report does not establish how fast the SUV was travelling.
The scene recalled BYD’s mid-May 2026 demonstration of the Bao 8’s DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension, which was conducted at a proving ground. In that test, the SUV lifted one wheel independently and continued moving on the other three. The Flash Charge Edition equipped with the system went on sale in China on May 13, 2026, with prices starting at 419,800 yuan.
DiSus-P Ultra uses hydraulic body control and is designed to lift individual wheels. BYD also presented it as enabling tyre changes without a conventional jack and low-speed driving on three wheels. The stated maximum speed for that mode is 15 km/h. The report says there has been no official measurement of the speed in the road video, nor confirmation that the incident led to enforcement or a finding of a specific traffic-law violation. The public-road footage has nevertheless raised safety and regulatory concerns.
