Denza gave Quatro Rodas an early drive of its Z electric supercar at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. The publication completed three laps of the 3.86-km circuit, so the experience was not a full test. The car is expected to start at €160,000, a price the article says is below that of Western high-performance rivals. Denza is BYD’s premium brand, and the Z is offered as a coupe or convertible, with a more track-focused Racing version also planned.

The standard Z uses three electric motors: a 680-hp unit at the front and two 460-hp motors at the rear. Combined output is 1,604 hp and 126.5 kgfm of torque. Denza claims a 0–100 km/h time of 2.25 seconds and a 300-km/h top speed. Its 76-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery operates at 800 volts; the car weighs about 2,230 kg. The Racing version is claimed to exceed 350 km/h and cover 0–100 km/h in under two seconds with suitable tires.

The first drive found strong, progressive power delivery, but the reviewer did not experience the full acceleration suggested by the figures. Boost and Track Mode were inactive, as were the steering-wheel paddles. The tester also noted limited steering feedback and wanted more lateral support from the seats. Ceramic brakes and the active DiSus-M suspension were among the car’s headline hardware.

Denza says the Z’s active dampers can change their response rapidly, while its aluminum body structure uses gigacasting. The review’s verdict was that the car has plenty of promise, but Denza still needs time to establish its reputation in the supercar market.
