BYD's upscale brand Denza will officially bring the Z9S battery-electric sedan to market on September 23, according to reports from Chinese outlets Yiche and Auto Home — roughly seven weeks after pre-orders opened on August 3. Denza has yet to confirm the timing on its own channels. Three trims are on offer, with pre-sale prices spanning 319,800 to 389,800 yuan (entry point equivalent to about $47,290).

The headline number is range: the top version is rated at 1,100 km on the CLTC cycle, which Denza bills as a global benchmark for mass-produced EVs, eclipsing the 1,036-km record set by the refreshed Z9GT back in March. All variants share a 102.3-kWh second-generation Blade Battery, with ratings of 780, 920 and 1,100 km, and flash charging can take the pack from 10% to 70% in five minutes, or to 97% in nine. Output runs from 370 kW (496 hp) on the single rear-motor car to a combined 890 kW on the tri-motor AWD flagship, which covers 0-100 km/h in as little as 2.68 seconds.

Riding on Denza's e3 technology, every Z9S gets rear-wheel steering as standard — up to 5 degrees per side, yielding a 4.75-meter turning radius — plus diagonal crab-walking, pivot turns and the DiSus-A air suspension system. The 5,090-mm-long body sits on a 3,025-mm wheelbase. Driver assistance comes via the LiDAR-based God's Eye B package running the new God's Eye 5.0 software, which adds reinforcement learning to its end-to-end model and handles urban and highway navigation along with all-scenario parking. An active power spoiler, a 120-liter frunk and a 470-liter trunk round out the package.

As the third model in the Z9 family, the sedan will go up against upper-mid-range electric rivals such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Xpeng P7. Notably, Denza's Chinese website has already dropped the original Z9 from its lineup.
