Geely's Galaxy brand officially detailed the facelifted E5 — marketed as the EX5 abroad — on September 21, 2026, with the on-sale date set for September 23. The update runs deeper than cosmetics: the crossover switches from front-wheel drive to a rear-mounted motor and moves onto an 800V electrical architecture.

The exterior stays close to the current design but picks up a front LiDAR unit, extra sensors on the front fenders, conventional door handles and sporty bumpers trimmed in matte chrome. The standout practical upgrade is a 160-liter power-operated frunk rated for 50 kg of cargo. Measuring 4,636 mm long with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, the car rides on 19-inch wheels and relocates its charge port to the rear fender on the driver's side. Inside, there's a floating touchscreen, digital cluster, head-up display, Flyme Sound audio and a panoramic glass roof.

The new G-Pilot H5 assistance suite supports Navigate on Autopilot in both city and highway settings, made possible by the added sensor hardware. Output climbs to 329 hp — 114 hp more than before — sent to the rear axle. Battery choices are 61.5 kWh (550 km CLTC / 451 km WLTP) and 70 kWh (635 km CLTC / 521 km WLTP), a clear jump from the outgoing car's 430–475 km WLTP range.

The refresh lands amid mounting sales pressure. Citing China EV DataTracker, the report notes Chinese deliveries fell 45.9% year on year to 40,776 units between January and August 2026, and the upgraded powertrain, range and driver-assist tech are Geely's bid to sharpen its competitiveness in a cutthroat EV market.
