Changan’s five-door Lumin Plus has arrived at dealers across China ahead of its planned November 2026 market launch. The small electric hatchback extends the body by 245 mm compared with the original three-door Lumin, with the added length intended to improve rear-seat legroom. Its dimensions are 3,515 mm long, 1,715 mm wide and 1,545 mm tall, with a 2,200 mm wheelbase.
The Plus retains the Lumin’s rounded headlights and other familiar styling cues, while adding rear doors with conventional handles. Inside, it has a central touchscreen, a digital instrument display, a steering-column-mounted gear selector and a three-spoke, D-shaped steering wheel. The rear seats fold in a 50:50 split. Dealer cars shown in the report had silver paint and a brown cabin.
Power comes from a single electric motor rated at 35 kW (47 hp). Changan has not disclosed battery choices, but the stated CLTC driving range is 205–301 km, equivalent to about 168–247 km under WLTP testing. No price for the Lumin Plus was given. The original three-door Lumin went on sale in China in June 2022 from 48,900 yuan (about US$7,340). Changan has delivered 552,599 Lumin hatchbacks cumulatively, though deliveries in the first nine months of 2026 fell 69.4% year on year to 38,064, as the company prepares a larger five-door version for a market increasingly favoring that body style.
