Freelander has named Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors as its exclusive authorised distributors in the UAE, turning the Gulf state into the young all-terrain marque's first international market. The agreement was signed in a ceremony pairing Freelander International CEO Lucia Mao with senior Al Tayer Group leadership. Though presented as a British premium off-road brand, Freelander sits under the Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture.

The two dealer groups will divide the territory: Al Tayer Motors covers Dubai and the Northern Emirates, while Premier Motors runs Abu Dhabi. Between them they operate 32 sales and service sites nationwide, spanning logistics, parts supply, warranty handling and after-sales care. Three flagship Freelander showrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have already been locked in ahead of the brand's official debut.

The UAE is intended as a springboard for a wider Middle East push, with a Global Brand Launch scheduled in Abu Dhabi. There, Freelander is expected to introduce the Freelander 8, billed as its first strategic model and built around three pillars: British Craftsmanship, Smart Confidence and All-Terrain Freedom.

Full specifications, pricing and UAE availability for the Freelander 8 will be disclosed during the upcoming launch activities.
