GAC is considering adding the Aion UT Cross to its Brazilian lineup in 2027, following stronger sales of the Aion UT. The Cross was shown at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, but the automaker has not yet approved its launch in Brazil. The existing Aion UT has registered 4,192 units in the country so far this year, including 1,471 in September. Its Brazilian range currently comprises Premium and Elite trims, and a third version could help it compete with the BYD Dolphin and Geely EX2.
The Cross keeps the standard hatchback’s body and adds black wheel-arch and lower-body cladding, roof rails, distinctive wheels, wider tires and a silver front-bumper accent. GAC has raised the suspension by 2 cm. The version displayed in Paris had a white roof, and its ground clearance is 14.7 cm when fully loaded. The hatch measures 4.27 meters long with a 2.75-meter wheelbase; the Cross retains the same wheelbase. GAC’s Milan design center developed the variant with European road conditions in mind.
Its front-mounted electric motor produces 204 hp and 21.4 kgfm of torque, paired with a 60 kWh battery. GAC quotes up to 400 km of range under the WLTP cycle and a 30-to-80% fast-charge time of 24 minutes for the European model. The Brazilian Aion UT is rated at 310 km under the different Inmetro test cycle, and no Brazilian range figure has been homologated for the Cross. Its wider tires and raised suspension may also affect range. European cabin equipment includes a heated steering wheel and heat-recovery climate control; the luggage compartment holds 440 liters. UK sales are planned for 2027, while Brazilian pricing, equipment and lineup position remain undecided.
