Mexico and China have different best-sellers: the Nissan Versa led Mexican sales in the first nine months of 2026, while China’s top-selling model was Geely’s all-electric EX2, which is also available in Mexico. The comparison highlights how buyers in both markets gravitate toward accessible cars, even though the EX2 uses an electric drivetrain.

INEGI data cited in the report put Versa sales in Mexico at 59,621 from January through September. The Chevrolet Aveo followed with 51,698 units, ahead of the Kia K3 at 43,696. In China, the Passenger Car Association recorded 310,391 EX2 sales over the same period. The model also topped China’s sales ranking in 2025, with 465,775 units, and its global production reached one million this month, roughly two years after its launch.

In Mexico, the EX2 is offered in GL and GF trims. Both use a single rear-mounted electric motor and a 39.4-kWh battery, with output equivalent to 114 hp and 111 lb-ft of torque. Its stated range is up to 395 km on the NEDC cycle. Prices span 385,900 to 419,900 pesos.
