Geely said on Oct. 20, 2026, that production of its EX2 electric car had reached 1 million units, around two years after its China debut in October 2024. Sold in China as the Xingyuan, the EX2 had reached 200,000 units produced by May 2025, 600,000 by March 2026 and 800,000 by August. The milestone counts factory production, not domestic sales; a previously reported 500,000 figure from December 2025 referred to customer deliveries.
China retail sales were 465,775 in 2025 and 194,159 in the first half of 2026. Monthly sales then rose from 32,306 in July to 44,275 in September, bringing January-to-September sales to 310,391. Together with 2025, that put sales at 776,166 through September 2026. Geely has not disclosed how the million vehicles produced are divided between China and export markets.
The EX2 is being marketed in South America, Southeast Asia, Australia and the UK, with E2 used as its name in some markets. Assembly began at Geely’s Purwakarta plant in Indonesia in January 2026, while the Renault-Geely venture in Brazil plans to start production at the Ayrton Senna plant in December.
In China, the rear-wheel-drive model uses Geely’s GEA platform and has 78- or 114-hp motor options. LFP batteries are offered with 30.12- and 40.16-kWh capacities, rated for up to 310 and 410 km on the CLTC cycle; a later version raises the CLTC range to 480 km. The 2026 model starts at a promotional 61,800 yuan, while the 480-km version is listed at 86,800 yuan before a 3,000-yuan subsidy.
