GWM Chile is promoting the return of the Americas Rugby Championship to Chile, with the 2026 tournament set to begin on August 29 at Estadio CAP Acero in Talcahuano. The championship’s previous edition was held in 2019, and the event will bring four teams together: Argentina XV, Chile XV, Paraguay and Uruguay XV.
The day’s first match, Argentina XV versus Paraguay, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Chile XV will then face Uruguay XV at 6 p.m. The competition uses a round-robin format, giving the Chilean side another chance to test itself against regional opponents.
GWM Chile, an official sponsor of Los Cóndores, invited rugby supporters to attend and said it will run activities for visitors at the stadium. The company described the sponsorship as part of its effort to connect its brand with sport, adventure and outdoor activities. GWM Chile general manager Fernando Maldonado also pointed to shared themes such as teamwork, perseverance and effort, and said the company intends to continue developing the partnership.
