GWM has introduced the Haval H7 Max in Chile, expanding its local electrified lineup with a large SUV offered as an HEV 4WD Deluxe or a PHEV 4WD Deluxe. Both versions pair a 1.5-liter turbo engine with two electric motors, one at each axle, and a 4 DHT automatic transmission. Combined output is 359 hp and 760 Nm of torque.

The self-charging hybrid uses a 1.53 kWh battery. The plug-in hybrid has a 19.09 kWh battery and GWM’s Hi4 system; it is rated for up to 85 km of electric driving on the NEDC cycle and a total range of up to 930 km. Using a 50 kW charger, its battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in about 24 minutes.

The H7 Max measures 4,800 mm long and has 218 mm of minimum ground clearance. Cargo capacity is 586 liters, rising to 1,404 liters with the rear seats folded. Cabin equipment includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 50 W wireless phone charger. The SUV also features all-wheel drive, a rear differential lock and seven driving modes, alongside six airbags and an extensive driver-assistance package.

Prices, including brand and financing bonuses, start at CLP 27,490,000 for the HEV and reach CLP 30,990,000 for the PHEV. GWM lists vehicle coverage of five years or 150,000 km and hybrid-system coverage of eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first.
