Autocosmos tested the GWM Ora 5 EV in Chile, describing it as a larger, taller and more versatile successor to the Ora 03’s small-car concept. The 2026 model measures 4,471 mm long and has a 2,720 mm wheelbase, while its 362-litre trunk trails rivals including the Dongfeng Vigo, Leapmotor B10 and MG S5 EV. The review says the Ora 5 makes better use of its size for passenger room than for luggage space.

The Chilean launch version is fully electric, with a 201-hp motor producing 260 Nm, a 58.3-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a claimed 435 km of WLTP range. That figure exceeds the cited ranges for the MG S5 EV (430 km), Dongfeng Vigo (411 km), Leapmotor B10 (360 km) and Opel Crossland EV (305 km). The Ora 5 supports DC charging at up to 120 kW and includes vehicle-to-load capability. In the review’s measurements, energy use was about 11.7 kWh/100 km in urban driving and 14–18 kWh/100 km on rural roads.

The tester found the ride more comfortable and adaptable than the sportier Ora 03 GT, with a less distinctive character but a more mature feel. Highlights include a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, panoramic glass roof, electrically adjustable ventilated seats, 360-degree cameras and a driver-assistance package of up to 20 systems. The review also flags confusing steering-wheel controls and the lack of physical controls for some basic functions.

In Chile, the listed price is CLP 24,490,000, reduced to CLP 22,990,000 with discounts. The review presents the Ora 5 EV as a competitive compact electric crossover, particularly for buyers prioritising range, equipment and cabin space over a larger boot.
