Great Wall Motor is preparing to expand its Tank SUV range in Brazil with the Tank 400, whose launch is scheduled for November 9–10. A price of R$399,000 has been reported by CNN Brasil Auto journalist Jorge Moraes. The model will sit above the Tank 300, which starts at R$342,000, and was previously shown at Festival Interlagos 2026.

The Tank 400 measures 4,985 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,900 mm tall, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase. Its plug-in hybrid setup pairs a 2.0-liter turbo flex-fuel engine with an electric motor, producing a combined 408 hp and 76.5 kgfm of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to a four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing. GWM quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds; the 37.1-kWh battery is said to provide about 100 km of electric-only driving.

In Brazil, the Tank 400 is expected to compete with the BYD Atto 8 and Denza B5, as well as the Toyota SW4. The article also points to the larger Tank 700 as a possible future addition, but says it has no launch date yet. The Tank 300 and Tank 400 are positioned around off-road capability, while the Tank 700 is described as a plug-in hybrid with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine.
