GWM launched the 2027 Tank 500 in China on October 23, adding driver-assistance and cabin updates to the off-road SUV. The model continues to offer Hi4-T and Hi4-Z plug-in hybrid versions, as well as a 3.0T gasoline model. Prices remain between 335,000 yuan and 375,000 yuan, matching the range for the facelift introduced in August 2025.

The Hi4-T plug-in hybrid starts at 335,000 yuan, with its Zhixiang trim at 355,000 yuan; the Hi4-Z Zhixiang is priced at 375,000 yuan. The gasoline version pairs its 3.0-liter engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and costs 355,000 yuan with five seats or 363,000 yuan with seven. GWM says the update brings 296 changes across hardware, software and safety.

Both Zhixiang plug-in hybrids gain Coffee Pilot 4, using Nvidia’s Thor-U processor, rated at 700 TOPS, alongside lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 11 cameras. The system supports assisted driving on urban and highway routes, parking-to-parking assistance and voice-operated vehicle functions. Base Hi4-T and 3.0T versions instead use Coffee Pilot 2 and have no lidar. Cabin additions include two 15.6-inch screens, 22 speakers, folding front leg rests, rear tray tables and a bed mode.

The Hi4-T retains its 310-kW combined output, 37.1-kWh battery and 110-km WLTC electric range. Hi4-Z output is 635 kW, with a 59.05-kWh battery and 201-km WLTC range. The launch comes amid weaker Tank sales: September deliveries fell 29.21% year on year to 15,178, while January–September sales declined 13.53% to 142,796.
