An iCaur 03T REEV has been spotted without camouflage on Malaysia’s Federal Highway, suggesting the range-extender SUV could be nearing a local launch. The model is already sold in Thailand and Indonesia under different names: Jaecoo 6T and Chery J6T, respectively. The Malaysian-market sighting is notable because it wears REEV badging, marking the first range-extender iCaur reported for the country.
The powertrain pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine used as a generator with an electric drive system. The rear-wheel-drive version produces 252 PS and 300 Nm, reaches 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a stated 160 km/h top speed. The all-wheel-drive model makes 428 PS and 505 Nm, with a 0–100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds. Both use a 33.67 kWh LFP battery. NEDC electric range is 190 km for the RWD version and 160 km for AWD; the reported combined figures are 800 km and 750 km, respectively. The article estimates the electric ranges would be closer to 160 km and 130 km under WLTP testing.
Charging support includes up to 100 kW DC, 6.6 kW AC and 2.3 kW vehicle-to-load output. The 03T’s widebody treatment adds 40 mm of width, bringing it to 1,950 mm, while the car measures 4,503 mm long and wears 21-inch wheels. The sighting prompted the publication to suggest the 03T REEV could arrive ahead of the larger iCaur V27, which it expects to debut early next year; no Malaysian launch date was confirmed.
