PT Jasa Berdikari Logistics (JBL) has started using a JAC UrbanMover N90EV electric truck to deliver fresh fruit for distributor and marketer PT Sewu Segar Nusantara (SSN) in Makassar, Indonesia. The first dispatch marks JBL’s use of an electric vehicle in fresh-produce distribution.

The truck is intended to serve Makassar and nearby areas. JBL and SSN say the deployment is meant to support operational efficiency while reducing emissions from transport, although the companies did not provide figures for costs, emissions savings or delivery volumes.

JBL describes the project as an initial step toward lower-emission logistics and says it will explore further uses of transport technology, including electric vehicles. The companies also plan to assess operational efficiency and the potential to extend more sustainable supply-chain practices.
