JAC has broadened its T9 pick-up range in South Africa with a pair of Black Edition derivatives, built on the Super Lux and Hunter grades. Both share a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel, tuned for 125 kW and 444 Nm in the Super Lux and a stouter 144 kW and 487 Nm in the Hunter. A ZF eight-speed automatic feeds a part-time four-wheel-drive system, with Sport, Normal, Eco and Snow modes selectable, and the claimed combined consumption sits at 7.8 L/100 km.

The 4x4 Super Lux Black Edition starts at R629 900, while the 4x4 Hunter Black Edition commands R689 900. Both carry a five-year/200 000 km warranty and a seven-year/100 000 km service plan as standard, positioning them above a broader T9 lineup that opens at R549 900.

Visually, the editions receive a model-specific grille, blacked-out mirrors, door handles and roof rails, dark-finished 18-inch alloys and title decals. Branded nudge and styling bars, a tonneau cover and a tow bar are fitted too, while the cabin continues the theme with "leather-enhanced" trim, branded headrests and heavy-duty floor mats.
