Jaecoo has cut prices on its J5 crossover in Vietnam for October, with the largest reduction reaching VND 144 million. The model is positioned in the B+ segment and is among the first two vehicles produced at the Geleximco-Chery assembly plant in Hung Yen province.

The petrol Premium now costs VND 505 million after a VND 94 million reduction. The hybrid SHS-H Premium and Flagship are priced at VND 559 million and VND 639 million respectively, each down VND 110 million. The electric J5 EV Flagship has the biggest stated discount and is offered at VND 605 million.

The three powertrain choices include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 145 hp and 210 Nm; a hybrid pairing a 1.5-litre turbo engine with an electric motor for a combined 221 hp; and an EV rated at 208 hp and 288 Nm. Jaecoo quotes about 1,000 km of combined range for the hybrid under the NEDC test cycle. The EV is rated for 461 km per charge and can charge from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes using DC fast charging.

Jaecoo says the J5 is a key sales model and that close to 1,000 units were delivered in September, without giving a detailed breakdown. Rivals named in the article include the Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-30, BYD Atto 3 and Lynk & Co 02. At the 2026 Car Choice Awards, the J5 received a new-equipment award, while the SHS-H won in the mainstream new-hybrid category.
