Nippon Paint has rolled out Pylox Premium, an aerosol paint line aimed at Indonesian riders who want to respray their motorcycles at home. Speaking at the launch, automotive influencer and Katros Garage founder Atenx Katros observed that custom customers these days want fast, near-instant turnarounds without giving up a quality finish.
The new line is built around a Quick Dry formulation for a more efficient spraying process. It also features a nozzle that can be adjusted for vertical or horizontal spray patterns, and comes in high-gloss and matte finishes, with petrol-resistant and non-cracking variants offered to help paint withstand fuel exposure and everyday wear.
For DIY repaints, Atenx says preparation comes first: wash the bodywork until no dirt or oil is left, then move on to a light sanding — a step he notes is often skipped on parts like exhaust and engine covers. When spraying, he advises building up color in several thin passes rather than one heavy coat, since thick layers carry a higher risk of failure, and applying clear coat gradually as well. His bottom line: take it slow and enjoy the process.
Nippon Paint's Hery Susanto added that each surface demands its own treatment: Primer Grey for metal frames, a transparent PP primer for plastic body panels, heat-resistant paint in silver or black for hot zones, and a dedicated P112 Dashboard Coating for dashboards. Identifying the material first and matching the product system to it, he said, is what delivers a proper result.
