MG’s Thai operating companies have appointed Dr. Zhang Jia, also identified as Dr. Galen Chang, as managing director of SAIC Motor-CP. He will oversee the company’s operations and guide strategy for MG Sales Thailand. The appointment was announced on October 30, 2026.
Chang said he plans to draw on more than 25 years of automotive management experience gained internationally. His agenda has three broad strands: bringing global innovation together with an understanding of Thailand’s automotive market while offering products positioned for value; improving customer confidence and service under MG’s “MG Smile” concept; and strengthening Thailand’s role as a production base serving Asian and overseas markets.
The company’s stated plan combines growth in Thailand with exploration of business opportunities abroad, aiming to build competitiveness and support sustainable expansion. Meanwhile, Tao Shensen has taken on a new role focused on SAIC Motor Corporation’s international business, where he will work to expand the group’s operations and build on MG’s presence in global markets.
