Test mules of the upcoming BYD Han have surfaced in China, and the photos suggest an evolution rather than a revolution. The sedan keeps the brand's "Dragon Face" front end and a full-width taillight bar, while a single LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof points to upgraded driver-assist hardware. Chinese outlets identify the car as the third iteration of the Han.
Within BYD's sedan hierarchy, the new car is expected to slot beneath the Han L and the range-topping "Da Han," taking over the entry-level role the current model fills today. The cabin shown in the spy images follows BYD's usual template: a light-toned minimalist layout, a large central touchscreen, and a strip of physical controls on the console.
Rumored equipment includes the second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging support across both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The lone roof LiDAR matches the sensor layout of the DiPilot 300 (God's Eye B) system, though it remains unclear whether side-mounted units will be added — the flagship DiPilot 600 setup carries three. Adaptive damping via DiSus-C, and possibly air suspension through DiSus-A, are also on the expected list.
The refresh comes at a critical time for the nameplate: just 2,997 Han units were delivered in China in August 2026, with sales sliding sharply since Beijing phased out NEV subsidies in late 2025. Pricing is rumored to start around 200,000 yuan (29,900 USD), modestly above the current car's 168,800-yuan entry point.
