Nio brings its first Nio House to Macau and kicks off ES9 deliveries in the city

Nio has opened its first Nio House in Macau together with authorized partner Guangdong Hongyue Automobile Group, and began handing over its flagship ES9 SUV to local customers the same day. The new showroom, located at Residencia Macau on Avenida da Ponte da Amizade, combines product experiences, after-sales support, technology displays, and community events.

The city's network now counts one Nio House, one Nio Space, and two battery swap stations, while a third swap station has entered the planning stage without a disclosed location or timeline. Nio's authorized service center in Macau was also recently upgraded, and the company now sells products from all three of its brands — Nio, Onvo, and Firefly — making the city one of the few where its full multi-brand lineup is available.

The opening follows a shift in how Nio runs the market: in June 2025 it said it would recruit a distributor to handle local operations, service-network development, and brand ecosystem building. The tie-up with Hongyue, a Greater Bay Area automotive business with nearly 30 years of history, signals that partner-led model is now taking shape and fits Nio's broader push to rely on local dealers outside the Chinese mainland to cut upfront network-building costs.

Co-founder and president Qin Lihong said Nio has consistently ranked among the top three sellers in Macau's new energy vehicle market, though he gave no figures. The company did not disclose Macau pricing for the ES9 or the size of the initial delivery batch. Compared with Hong Kong's tighter restrictions on left-hand-drive cars, Macau's more permissive rules offer mainland EV makers a friendlier entry point — and several hundred Nio owners were already in the city before the formal market strategy was announced.
