Nio tops 35,000 monthly deliveries for a fourth month as core brand doubles and Onvo keeps sliding

Nio Inc handed over 35,836 vehicles in August, a 14.5% year-on-year gain that still marked a second straight month of slight month-on-month erosion. Even so, the group has now cleared 35,000 units for four consecutive months, keeping overall volume on a high plateau.

The split between its brands widened sharply. The core Nio marque more than doubled year-on-year to 21,174 units, up 5.8% from July, and now accounts for 59% of group sales versus roughly a third a year ago. Onvo moved the other way, falling 46% year-on-year to 8,810 units — its third consecutive monthly decline — which cut its contribution to under a quarter from more than half in August 2025. Firefly, the smallest brand, grew 35% to 5,852 units, or about 16% of the total.

For January through August, group deliveries reached 262,893, up nearly 58% year-on-year, lifting cumulative volume past 1.26 million. This year the Nio brand has delivered 160,670 vehicles (up 64.6%), Onvo 61,428 (up 13.2%) and Firefly 40,795. On the infrastructure side, Nio reached 4,000 battery swap stations in early August and commissioned its first fifth-generation site, which serves all three brands and formally brings Firefly into the swap network. The redesigned ES8, meanwhile, needed only 335 days to accumulate 140,000 deliveries.

Nio is scheduled to publish second-quarter results ahead of the US market open on Tuesday. It delivered 107,658 vehicles in the quarter, up 49.4% year-on-year, though the figure landed below the company's own guidance range.
