Omoda Jaecoo is preparing a full-hybrid version of the Omoda 7 for Brazil, although the company has not confirmed its local arrival. The planned HEV is expected to keep the current SUV’s dimensions: 4.66 meters long, with a 2.72-meter wheelbase and a 590-liter trunk. Its styling is also expected to remain close to the plug-in hybrid, or PHEV, already on sale in Brazil.
The main change would be the powertrain. The proposed system is said to use a 5-kWh battery, recharged through deceleration and braking rather than an external plug. It is expected to pair a 135-hp 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with a 204-hp electric motor, for a stated combined output of 224 hp. Estimates suggest total range could exceed 1,800 km, though the figure and the system’s electric-only range have not been confirmed.
A name under consideration is Omoda 7 SHS-H. The version could sit below the PHEV in the range, potentially priced around R$230,000. For comparison, the Omoda 7 PHEV starts at R$244,990, while the Toyota Corolla Cross XRX Hybrid is listed at R$226,190 and the GWM Haval H6 HEV2 at R$225,000. Omoda Jaecoo plans seven Brazil launches in 2027, and the hybrid system is due to be presented at a Chery event in Wuhu, China.
