Omoda is displaying the C7 at the Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2026 in Malaysia, where visitors can also test-drive the SUV. Bookings have been open since August, ahead of its local launch. Both the petrol and plug-in hybrid versions are slated for local assembly in Shah Alam. The vehicle on display at the expo is the petrol model.
That version uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 197 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its estimated price is RM160,000. Omoda has not confirmed whether Malaysia will receive a two-wheel-drive version, an all-wheel-drive version, or both. The plug-in hybrid is estimated at RM180,000.
The PHEV combines a 156 PS, 1.5-litre turbo engine with a 204 PS front electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission, for total outputs of 360 PS and 530 Nm. Its BYD-sourced 18.3-kWh Blade LFP battery is claimed to provide 95 km of electric-only driving and a combined range of 1,250 km. The PHEV has 20-inch wheels, compared with 19-inch wheels on the petrol model; its cabin also adds a passenger leg rest and a movable 15.6-inch touchscreen, but omits a glove box. Listed equipment includes eight airbags, Sony audio, ventilated powered front seats and driver-assistance systems.
