Omoda plans to bring the Omoda 7 SHS-H, a full hybrid with a 5-kWh battery that recharges without an external plug, to Brazil in 2027. The Chery Group brand has not yet released the new version’s engine details or confirmed its price. Its projected range of up to 1,500 km is an estimate, rather than a published final figure.
The battery is more than twice the 1.83-kWh unit in the smaller Omoda 5 HEV. Omoda’s larger pack is intended to let the SUV travel farther on electric power than the short distances typical of many full hybrids, and to allow the combustion engine to spend more time generating electricity in an efficient operating range. The Omoda 5 HEV is cited as capable of nearly 1,200 km between refuelling stops.
For reference, the Omoda 5 HEV pairs a 135-hp 1.5-litre turbo engine with a 204-hp electric motor, for a combined 224 hp. Omoda has not said whether the 7 SHS-H will use the same setup or specified its output. The current Omoda 7 sold in Brazil is the SHS-P plug-in hybrid: its 18.4-kWh battery supports a combined 279 hp, and its Luxury version is priced at R$254,990.
Omoda expects the SHS-H to be cheaper than that current version. The report suggests a possible position between the GWM Haval H6 HEV One, priced at R$199,990, and the H6 HEV2 at R$225,000; these are comparisons, not a confirmed Omoda price.
