Omoda & Jaecoo unveiled new technologies at its 2026 International User Summit in Wuhu, China, including an upgraded hybrid system for the Omoda 7. The refreshed SUV is expected to reach Brazil in 2027. Omoda says it will be the first model globally to use the new full-hybrid setup, which is not charged from an external power source.
The system’s 5-kWh battery is substantially larger than the 1.83-kWh unit in the Omoda 5. A feature called Super Quiet Mode is designed to make starts, acceleration and higher-speed driving quieter, with an electric-vehicle-like feel in those situations. The larger battery also enables vehicle-to-load output of up to 2.2 kW for powering external equipment.
The summit also brought news about the Omoda 4, which will be the first model to get a thermal-insulating coating intended to cut cabin temperatures by as much as 10°C. The company additionally reported more than 1.4 million global sales in its first three and a half years, and projected sales above 800,000 vehicles in 2026—around 110% higher than in 2025. Europe accounts for 48% of sales, while monthly volume in Brazil has topped 6,500 units.
