Xpeng says it has started shipping the Mona L05 internationally before the SUV’s China launch on October 29. The company plans to offer the model in 65 countries and regions, but has not named the first destinations or shared shipment quantities and market-by-market delivery dates. The L05 also opened for Chinese pre-sales on October 15, with prices ranging from 169,800 yuan to 191,800 yuan across five versions.
The five-seat, mid-size SUV is the third vehicle in Xpeng’s Mona family and sits above the Mona L03. It is offered in battery-electric and extended-range configurations in China. The BEV’s maximum CLTC-rated range is 635 km; the EREV is rated for 310 km of battery-only driving and 1,310 km overall with a full tank and battery. Xpeng has not said which powertrains will be available overseas.
Xpeng says it developed left- and right-hand-drive versions in parallel and used 660 vehicles for testing in extreme conditions across 25 countries and regions. The program included cabin-noise tests in Germany, high-altitude powertrain evaluations in Mexico, and reliability work in temperatures reaching 50°C in the UAE and falling to minus 25°C in Norway. The company also says the L05 was engineered toward five-star safety standards in China, Europe and Australia; its materials list future C-NCAP, Euro NCAP and ANCAP standards but do not provide crash-test results.
Promotional images previewed a European introduction of Xpeng’s Turing driver-assistance technology, which uses its second-generation VLA model and is advertised with up to 1,500 TOPS of effective computing power. No rollout date was given. Xpeng delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, its highest monthly tally this year, while deliveries for the first nine months reached 284,367, down 9.2% year over year. CEO He Xiaopeng has said the company is aiming for more than 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter, with the L05 among the planned new-model contributions.
