XPeng has named its robotaxi service Yoyo and opened an online registration channel for people outside the company to request pilot rides using invitation codes. The move expands on employee-only testing, but the service is not yet open to the general public. XPeng has not disclosed the size of the available fleet or when unrestricted rides might begin.

The trial is intended to test the system in everyday operating conditions while the company works toward a business model combining autonomous vehicles, digital services and partnerships with local operators. XPeng says it developed the vehicle’s main electronic components and the software used to interpret its surroundings and carry out driving maneuvers.

Yoyo uses an XPeng GX SUV equipped with four in-house Turing AI chips, with a stated combined effective computing capacity of 3,000 TOPS. The hardware works with XPeng’s VLA 2.0 vision-language-action model. The system relies on cameras and AI processing rather than LiDAR sensors or high-definition maps. Passenger features include pre-setting cabin temperature and fragrance through the registration platform, zero-gravity seats, massage functions and rear-seat entertainment. The report gives no location for the pilot program.
