XPeng has begun shipping its Mona L05 from China to international markets ahead of the model’s official China launch on Oct. 29. The five-seat midsize SUV is the third model in the Mona lineup and sits above the Mona L03, which went on sale in July. XPeng has not named the first export destinations or delivery dates, but says it plans to sell the L05 in 65 countries and regions.
The company says 660 vehicles were used in testing, with left- and right-hand-drive versions developed in parallel. Trials included reliability checks at 50°C in the UAE and minus 25°C in Norway, cabin-noise assessments at high speed in Germany, and evaluation of the powertrain on steep roads in Mexico. XPeng also highlighted a driver-assistance technology called Touring AI for Europe, using its second-generation vision-language-action model with computing capacity of up to 1,500 trillion operations per second. No rollout date was provided.
Chinese presales opened Oct. 15, with five versions priced from 169,800 to 191,800 yuan (about 93,400 to 105,500 dirhams). Fully electric variants have a claimed CLTC range of up to 635 km. Range-extender versions are rated for 310 km of electric-only driving and 1,310 km total with a full fuel tank and charged battery. XPeng says the vehicle was developed to meet five-star safety standards in China, Europe and Australia, but has not reported crash-test results.
The export push comes as XPeng reported 41,256 deliveries in September, its highest monthly total so far this year. That was 5.5% above August but 0.78% lower year over year. Deliveries for the first nine months reached 284,367, down 9.2% year over year. CEO He Xiaopeng has targeted monthly sales above 60,000 in the fourth quarter, with the L05 among the new models expected to support growth.
