Xpeng Motors Australia plans to finish 2026 with 66 retail locations spanning every Australian state and territory. The network expansion accompanies a growing range: the L03 mid-size SUV is due in local showrooms before the end of this year, bringing the Australian lineup to three models alongside the G6 and X9. The L03 will start at A$41,900 before on-road costs and will be offered as an EV or extended-range EV (EREV). Xpeng says it will undercut several electric SUV rivals, including the Geely EX5, which starts at A$41,990 before on-road costs.
Two larger SUVs are expected in 2027. The G9L flagship is scheduled to go on sale early that year, followed by the even larger GX; local pricing and specifications for both are still unannounced. The G9L and GX are also planned with EV and EREV powertrains. Xpeng first entered Australia in late 2024 through independent distributor TrueEV, but the relationship ended in a dispute that led to Federal Court proceedings. The factory-backed local operation says it has processed more than 1,400 customer enquiries and settled 250 cases concerning promotional commitments made by TrueEV, such as cashback, extended warranties and free servicing.
Since beginning to report monthly VFACTS figures in June, Xpeng has delivered 1,183 vehicles in Australia: 1,096 G6s and 87 X9s. The company also offers vehicle warranties of seven years with unlimited kilometres for private owners, while battery and motor coverage runs to 160,000km and up to eight years for private buyers. A Melbourne parts warehouse opened in June; next-day delivery is available in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, with different service levels in Brisbane.
