BYD has given its small electric crossover a model-year refresh in China, introducing the 2027 Yuan UP Feichi Edition — the vehicle sold abroad as the Atto 2. Five grades are on offer starting at 74,800 yuan, and buyers trading in an old car can knock 5,000 yuan off, bringing the effective floor to 69,800 yuan. The headline change is a new battery option good for 501 km on the CLTC cycle, lifting the range ceiling beyond the previous 401 km limit.

Mechanically, BYD simplified rather than expanded the lineup: every trim now runs the same 70 kW (94 hp) front motor with 180 Nm of torque, retiring the 130 kW unit previously available. The car remains on the e-Platform 3.0 architecture with cell-to-body battery packaging, while FinDreams supplies the LFP Blade packs in 32 kWh, 45.12 kWh, and a new 51.13 kWh size — the largest translating to roughly 370 km on the WLTC cycle. A 30–80% DC fast charge takes 30 minutes.

Cabin updates include moving the gear selector from the console to a steering-column stalk, which frees space around a 50-watt wireless charging pad, plus two new paint colors and a DiLink 100 cockpit with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and 8.8-inch instrument display. Upper trims get BYD's DiPilot C suite for highway navigation and automated parking, and the company says it will cover damage caused during automated parking maneuvers.

The revision lands in an increasingly crowded budget segment: the Yuan UP moved 22,958 units domestically in August, while Geely's Xingyuan (sold overseas as the EX2) sits atop China's sales chart with over 266,000 units delivered through the first eight months of the year.
