GAC Aion says its Ray 7 electric fastback will go on sale in China on November 12. Pre-sales began on October 17, with five configurations listed from 128,800 yuan (about US$19,200) to 158,800 yuan (about US$23,700). The model pairs a low, fastback profile with a claimed drag coefficient of 0.22. It measures 4,960 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,455 mm tall, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase.
The Ray 7’s driver-assistance package includes 27 sensors, among them a Huawei 192-line lidar and three 4D millimeter-wave radars. GAC says the system uses a model derived from WeRide’s L4 robotaxi technology and supports urban driving functions, automated parking and navigation through gates. The cabin has a digital instrument display, a central touchscreen, sports seats and wireless phone charging.
Power comes from Huawei’s DriveONE integrated electric-drive system, combined with GAC’s 28-in-1 thermal-management module. The automaker quotes energy use of 9.7 kWh per 100 km on the CLTC test cycle. Buyers can choose a 530-km CLTC version with GAC Inpow cells or a 702-km version using CATL cells; both use lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. The longer-range figure is also given as approximately 569 km under WLTP estimates.
GAC Aion reported October 2026 sales of 42,357 vehicles, up 56.79% year over year and 19.33% from September. The Ray 7’s market launch follows that pre-sale period, with the listed prices applying to its five configurations.
