Aion has unveiled the UT Cross at the Paris Motor Show, adding a more rugged-looking version of its UT electric hatchback to its growing UK line-up. The new variant sits 20mm higher than the standard UT and gains black wheel-arch and lower-body trim, contrasting white paint and black roof rails, silver front-bumper cladding, wider tyres and a different alloy-wheel design.
The cabin, equipment and passenger space remain unchanged from the regular UT. Luggage capacity is 440 litres, and standard features include a heat pump and heated steering wheel. Power comes from the same 60kWh battery and 201bhp front-mounted motor as the UT. Aion has not given the Cross’s driving range; the standard car is rated for up to 268 miles, and the added ride height could reduce that figure.
Aion says the UT Cross is due in the UK in 2027, following the Aion V and standard UT. The company aims to offer eight models in the UK by 2030. The new version is expected to cost a little over £30,000 and will compete in the small electric SUV class against the Renault 4 and Kia EV4.
