Arcfox, BAIC Group’s electric-vehicle brand, began pre-sales in China on October 23 for the 2027 Alpha S5 sedan. Prices for the three battery-electric versions run from 121,800 yuan (about $18,130) to 144,800 yuan. The company has not announced the official launch date or said whether extended-range versions will be updated at the same time.
The 650 Plus LiDAR is priced at 121,800 yuan, the 650 Max LiDAR at 131,800 yuan and the 750 Max LiDAR Shenxing at 144,800 yuan. Their stated CLTC ranges are 650 km or 750 km. Each version uses a CATL battery and comes with a 192-channel LiDAR system and BAIC’s Yuanjing driver-assistance suite, which supports urban and highway navigation assistance. Pre-sale customers can receive benefits valued at 18,800 yuan, including a battery, motor and power-electronics lifetime warranty.
The sedan measures 4,886 mm long and has a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Its rear motor produces 227 kW, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds. Arcfox says its 5C charging system can take the battery from 30% to 80% in 8.9 minutes; the car also adds a 148-liter front trunk. Cabin and assistance hardware includes a Snapdragon 8775A chip, a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 68-inch augmented-reality head-up display.
The current Alpha S5 went on sale in March, with battery-electric versions starting at 116,800 yuan and extended-range options also offered. The 2027 model’s pre-sale prices apply only to the electric versions. It enters a crowded segment alongside models such as the Xpeng Mona M03 and Leapmotor B01.
