Avatr has confirmed that its 06T electric sports wagon will reach Australia in the second half of 2027, following the brand’s first local model, the 07L SUV, which is scheduled for the first half of that year. The timing was outlined by Avatr Australia’s head of brand and marketing, Andrew Haurissa, during an interview with Australian media in Paris. The rollout is expected to broadly follow the brand’s European introduction of the two models.
The 06T is offered in China in several configurations. Its top Performance version has three electric motors producing up to 712kW and 996Nm. Mid- and higher-grade models use an 87.3kWh LFP battery, while the base version pairs a 72.9kWh pack with two motors delivering 450kW and 750Nm. The stated NEDC range is up to 620km with the smaller battery and 710km with the larger one. China also gets a range-extender variant with a 1.5-litre turbo engine, two electric motors and a 45.1kWh battery; export versions appear likely to be fully electric.
Australia is set to be among the first right-hand-drive markets for Avatr, whose parent company Changan introduced the brand in Thailand in 2024. The company describes Avatr as a premium rival to Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, positioned above Geely Group’s Zeekr. Australian prices and specifications for the 06T remain unconfirmed. For the 07L, pre-orders are expected to open before the end of 2026, ahead of first-half 2027 deliveries.
