Arcfox, the premium EV arm of state-owned BAIC, put its new mid-to-large Alpha T7 SUV on sale on September 16, and the company reports more than 30,000 firm orders taken within the first hour. The lineup spans nine trims across battery-electric and extended-range versions, starting at 132,800 yuan (about $19,500) and topping out at 168,800 yuan (about $24,800) — a price point the headline bills as half that of Xiaomi's YU7.
The EV variants use an 800V silicon-carbide platform with a 227 kW (304 hp) single motor and a choice of 72.8 kWh or 84.8 kWh CATL LFP packs, delivering CLTC ranges of 650 km and 715 km, with a 10-minute charge adding up to 270 km. The range-extender model pairs a 1.5L generator with a 200 kW (268 hp) motor and a 43.9 kWh battery for 320 km of electric driving and 1,315 km combined.
Styled around an "Arc-Flow" theme as a wide-body coupe, the car stretches 5,020 mm long on a 3,040 mm wheelbase and slips through the air at a 0.251 drag coefficient. Inside, a 43.3-inch P-HUD replaces the instrument cluster beside a 17.3-inch 3K touchscreen, and Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system — fed by 27 sensors — handles highway and urban navigation assist plus automated parking in over 160 scenarios. Storage runs from a 200-liter frunk to 1,845 liters with the rear seats folded.
