Brazil’s car-rental industry is putting more emphasis on electric and hybrid vehicles at Expo Abla 2026, which takes place at São Paulo Expo on October 28 and 29. Fifteen manufacturers of light vehicles are expected to present products and solutions for rental companies, with BYD, GWM, Geely, Chevrolet and Toyota among the participants.

Stellantis will bring 13 models from six of its brands: Fiat, Jeep, Ram, Leapmotor, Citroën and Peugeot. The display includes the Leapmotor C10 REEV, making its first appearance at the rental-focused exhibition. The event is intended to connect automakers with companies that buy vehicles for their fleets and to create business opportunities.

The Brazilian Association of Rental Car Companies (Abla) says electrified models are gaining acceptance among consumers and attracting more interest from rental operators. The sector’s light-vehicle fleet is projected to reach 1.8 million by December, up from 1.71 million at the end of 2025 and a record for the industry. Abla is expected to announce the projection during the event. Rental companies account for nearly 30% of automakers’ light-vehicle sales, while growing use of rentals and subscriptions is also supporting the sector.
