BYD’s Atto 2 began reaching Brazilian dealerships in October, when the compact SUV registered 2,274 sales. That was up from 180 units in September and just ahead of the BYD King sedan, which recorded 2,205. The Atto 2 ranked fifth among BYD models in Brazil that month, behind the Dolphin Mini, Dolphin, Song Pro and Song Plus.

The Dolphin Mini led the brand’s Brazilian lineup with 8,432 registrations, while the Song Pro and Song Plus recorded 2,831 and 2,317, respectively. With inventory and customer service established, the Atto 2 could challenge those two SUVs for third place in BYD’s local sales ranking, behind the Dolphin models, the report says.

In Brazil, the Atto 2 is offered in GL and GS trims. The GL is priced at R$166,990 following a price increase, while the GS costs R$169,990. Both combine a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine rated at 98 hp and 13.5 kgfm with an electric motor. Combined output is 177 hp in the GL and 197 hp in the GS; battery capacity is 7.85 kWh and 18.03 kWh, respectively. Both versions produce 30.6 kgfm of torque.

Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument display, six airbags, LED headlights and a 360-degree camera. The GS adds a more advanced driver-assistance package and a 12.8-inch screen with Google Automotive Services.
