The BYD Dolphin Mini has moved into second place in Brazil’s passenger-car sales ranking for October, raising the possibility that an electric model could top the monthly chart for the first time. Fenabrave figures through Oct. 23 show the Hyundai HB20 leading with 7,984 registrations, while the Dolphin Mini has 6,200. The Fiat Argo is third with 6,097.

The Volkswagen Polo, the year-to-date leader among passenger cars, is only eighth for October, with 4,606 registrations. Its cumulative total remains 90,604, ahead of the Fiat Argo at 78,150 and Volkswagen T-Cross at 76,547. The monthly ranking covers passenger cars, not light commercial vehicles, so the Fiat Strada is excluded.

The next places in October’s table are held by the T-Cross (5,279), Renault Kwid (4,978), Volkswagen Tera (4,866), Toyota Yaris Cross (4,725), Hyundai Creta (4,084) and Chevrolet Onix (3,806). The BYD Dolphin is 13th with 3,600 registrations.

The report also lists Brazilian offers for the 2026/2027 Dolphin Mini: the 52-hp GS at R$119,990 and GL at R$107,990. With the month still in progress, the Dolphin Mini would need to pass the HB20 and hold off other rivals to claim the record.
