BYD Dolphin Mini takes fifth and GWM Haval H6 breaks into Brazil's top 10

Chinese models kept climbing Brazil's sales chart in August 2026. BYD placed the Dolphin Mini fifth overall with 8,299 units and the Dolphin ninth with 6,740, while the GWM Haval H6 broke into the top ten in tenth place on 6,151 registrations, according to figures compiled by consultancy K.Lume.

Further down, the Geely EX2 ranked 11th (5,804), the BYD Song Pro 23rd (4,295), the Caoa Chery Tiggo 5X 26th (3,398) and the Omoda 5 27th (3,344). Bright Consulting put electrified vehicles at 24.3% of the month's market and Chinese brands at 23.1%, noting that shoppers who traditionally bought used cars are switching to new Chinese models drawn by sharp pricing, generous equipment and longer warranties.

Fiat's Strada stayed on top of the overall ranking with just under 13,800 units, ahead of the Volkswagen Polo (10,472), Volkswagen Tera (10,338) and Fiat Argo (8,811).

Brazil moved 262,216 vehicles in August — 22.6% more than a year earlier but 1.1% below July, as light-commercial sales slipped 6.3%. Passenger cars accounted for 81.3% of the total, and year-to-date volume is running 19.5% ahead of 2025.
